NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A New York City police officer gave a woman drug addict crack and forced her to perform a sex act in return, the woman testified in court.
Melanie Perez testified last week that on one occasion a Brooklyn police officer called her to his home, made her smoke drugs and then pulled his pants down and forced her to perform oral sex, the New York Daily News reported.
"What was I going to do?" Perez testified in Brooklyn Supreme Court. "I did it."
Perez's testimony was given during the trial of Jason Arbeeny, not the officer in her testimony. Perez said she never dealt with Arbeeny.
Her account was meant to show the accused officer, charged with planting drugs on two innocent people in Coney Island to meet an arrest quota, was part of a larger conspiracy, the Daily News said.
Currently eight Brooklyn South Narcotics squad members are facing trials on charges related to conspiracy and corruption.
"Nobody saw me do anything," Arbeeny said outside the courtroom. "But my life is ruined."
