Serial rapist targets sorority sisters

DALLAS, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Dallas police say they are searching for a suspected serial rapist they say is targeting former members of a single sorority.

Plano, Texas, police sent out an e-mail alert saying four alumnae of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority were raped in their homes allegedly by the same assailant, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Police said the assailant attacked each woman in her home between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. with the most recent rape about 9:15 p.m. in Corinth.

The black women were in their mid-50s to early 60s who each told police their assailant seemed to possess personal knowledge about them.

One rape was in Corinth; one in Denton County; one in Plano and one in Coppell, both towns in Dallas County, the newspaper reported Sunday.

A surveillance video released by Plano police shows the alleged rapist who is described as a black man in his late 30s to mid-40s, about 5-foot-7 to 6 feet tall, weighing 250 to 300 pounds with short hair and a trimmed beard.
