WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The paid New Hampshire staff of Republican U.S. presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann quit, citing an apparent lack of focus on the state's primary.

The five salaried employees stressed their departure wasn't because of any lack of support from Bachmann, a U.S. representative from Minnesota, WMUR-TV, Manchester, N.H., first reported Friday.

Last month, Ed Rollins stepped down as Bachmann's campaign manager, citing health reasons. Other advisers also have left her team.

Bachmann's presidential campaign has been losing steam since she won Iowa's Ames Straw Poll in August. Her campaign reported raising $4 million in the third quarter, well behind rivals Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, The Hill reported.
