CHICAGO, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- The 13-room house that former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich called home has officially hit the Chicago real estate market at an asking price of $1.07 million.

The house located in the Ravenswood Manor neighborhood was purchased by Blagojevich and his wife Patti in 1999, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday.

It was built in 1929.

Patti Blagojevich said the house is unusually solid because it has concrete floors above the basement and concrete walls covered with plaster.

The original owner was a man who built high rises along Lake Shore Drive, she said. "When the economy slowed down, he built the house for himself."

Rod Blagojevich has been spotted shopping for a home in Chicago's upscale Sauganash neighborhood.

The former governor was scheduled to be sentenced this week for his conviction on federal corruption charges.

Sentencing has been delayed indefinitely, the Sun-Times reported.
