Teen being questioned about parents' death

PINEVILLE, N.C., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Police said they were questioning a North Carolina teen in the fatal early Monday shooting of the boy's father and stepmother.

Police said the teen, 15, told them he shot both of the victims, The Charlotte Observer reported.

Police said they received a 911 call just after 2 a.m. Monday from someone saying he needed to talk with police, but did not say why. Shortly after, the same person called again and said he had shot his father and stepmother and would wait for police on a nearby street corner in Pineville, N.C.

"I heard three, four, five ... maybe even six shots fired," neighbor Amy Taylor told reporters.

Neighbors said the male victim had a history of disagreements with neighbors, but said there were no signs of domestic abuse at the house.

"He carried a gun, and it frightened some of us," said one woman, referring to the father.

Police have not released the names of the victims or the teenager in custody.
