DETROIT, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- An aide to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was allegedly paid $568,000 to help put together a pension fund deal that could cost the city millions.

Derrick Miller pleaded guilty Monday to bribery and tax evasion and agreed to testify against Kilpatrick in an ongoing federal corruption investigation.

The Detroit Free-Press said the plea agreement revealed Miller's link to Atrium Financial, the company that consulted on a $44 million deal to purchase General Motors parts warehouses and then lease them back to GM. Pension trustees last year said the deal has lost $22 million in value, the newspaper said.

Miller admitted in the plea agreement he failed to declare income the company received for its work on the deal.
