WACO, Texas, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- A federal grand jury sitting in Waco, Texas, indicted the Kentucky soldier accused of planning an attack on Fort Hood, officials said.

Pfc. Naser Abdo was charged with possession of an unregistered destructive device and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a fugitive from justice, KXXV-TV, Waco, reported Tuesday.

If convicted, he could be sentenced up to 10 years in prison and a maximum of $250,000 fine for each count.

An FBI affidavit obtained by KXXV listed the weapons and bomb-making materials in Abdo's possession, including clocks, spools of wire, gun powder, pressure cookers, a handgun, ammunition and an article, "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom."

An FBI agent said Abdo, reported AWOL from Fort Campbell in Kentucky, admitted he planned to assemble two bombs in his hotel room then detonate them at a restaurant in Killeen, Texas, that is popular with soldiers from nearby Fort Hood.
