Dismembered body of missing boy found

NEW YORK, July 13 (UPI) -- A suspect was in custody Wednesday after New York police found the dismembered body of a missing 9-year-old Hasidic boy in two locations, police said.

The suspect was arrested at his home and the child's severed feet were in the suspect's freezer, sources told The New York Post.

The suspect, who was not identified, then led police to other parts of Leiby Kletzky's body, stuffed in a suitcase and hidden in a garbage container, sources said.

Kletzky was reported missing Monday afternoon after getting lost while walking alone for the first time from a day camp and following a man down a busy street. His parents agreed to allow him to walk part of the way home by himself and would meet them at the half-way point. The child never showed.

"There are no words, just no words, to describe the sense of what happened here," state Assemblyman Dov Hikind told the Post.

Sources told the newspaper police tracked the suspect tracing credit card transactions and video surveillance that showed the boy walking behind a bearded man and possibly getting into a gold-colored car.
