Fla. millionaire still living on streets

BROWARD, Fla., July 12 (UPI) -- A Florida homeless man who inherited $7 million several years ago is back on the streets despite his wealth, leaving his trustee and lawyer battling in court.

Richard Ansara, attorney for Ronald Novack, filed a lawsuit to have Craig Einhorn, Novack's cousin, replaced as the 64-year-old mentally ill man's trustee, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Novack, the adopted son of the man behind Florida's famous Fontainebleau hotel, inherited his mother's estate when she died in 2001/. However, because of his transient lifestyle, he did not receive word of this until 2007, when he then reached out to Ansara to help him claim the estate. Since then, Novack has resumed his life on the streets and had been difficult for Ansara to reach, leading him to believe Einhorn, who lives in Oregon, is not doing his job as trustee. Ansara is accusing Einhorn, 45, of trying to preserve the inheritance for himself.

"From what I know, from what I have heard, Ronnie is not being taken care of," Ansara said. "The facts of this case are just way too strange to not warrant an evaluation."

However, Einhorn disagrees and thinks Ansara is just looking to make a buck off his cousin.

"I have gone way beyond my fiduciary responsibility to try and help him [Novack], but like many adult mentally ill, they choose to live the vagrant lifestyle," he said. "He disappears for years at a time, leaving me unable to find him, let alone help him."
