COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 6 (UPI) -- The Ohio Supreme Court has set two more execution dates in 2012, bringing the total of scheduled deaths by lethal injection for next year to six.

The court set a July 26, 2012, execution date for John Eley, 62, who shot and killed a Youngstown store owner in 1986, and Sept. 20, 2012, as the execution date for Donald Palmer, 46, of Belmont County, convicted of two 1989 killings.

Ohio has executed four convicted killers this year with five more executions scheduled through the end of the year, The Columbus Dispatch reported Wednesday.

The next lethal injection is set for July 19, when Kenneth Smith of Butler County is to be put to death for murdering a Hamilton couple in their home in 1995.

The Ohio Parole Board unanimously recommended that Gov. John Kasich not grant clemency in Smith's case, the Dispatch said.
