Search expands for missing student

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., June 9 (UPI) -- Investigators say they're reviewing security tapes in their search for an Indiana University student last seen nearly a week ago.

Additionally, Bloomington police Lt. Bill Parker told a news conference Wednesday police are expanding their search and would use lie detector tests in their hunt for Lauren Spierer, 20, who was last seen early Friday after a night of partying with friends.

Hundreds of volunteers, including IU students and Bloomington residents, have already searched parks and fields in Monroe County, The Indianapolis Star reported. Spierer was reported missing Saturday.

Offers of help have come in from a variety of sources, including a $10,000 reward from Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. The television show "America's Most Wanted" also offered help.

WTHR-TV, Indianapolis, reported law enforcement personnel have added Lake Monroe to their search list. Police declined to say if the decision to search the lake was based on a tip.
