Dean of Students Harold Goldsmith said maintenance workers were searching all campus buildings and grounds.
Spierer's mother, Charlene, said her daughter has a heart condition called long QT syndrome that requires medication and should be hospitalized immediately if found.
Bloomington cardiologist Louis Calli said the hereditary condition can cause arrhythmia and loss of consciousness.
