Man gets through security at tall building

CHICAGO, May 24 (UPI) -- A man described as a resident of a psychiatric institution evaded security measures at Chicago's tallest building and got to the 102nd floor, police say.

The man was arrested in the Willis Tower on his way down, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday. Officer Laura Kubiak, a police spokeswoman, said he was released after being charged with misdemeanor trespass.

Security officers said the 42-year-old man followed an employee through a turnstile and then used a freight elevator to ascend.

The 108-story Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower, was the tallest building in the world when it was completed in 1973 and held that position for almost 25 years.
