CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 19 (UPI) -- A North Carolina woman charged with killing her young stepdaughter faces an additional federal drug charge.
The indictment, announced Wednesday, charges Elisa Baker with trafficking in prescription drugs, The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer reported. She allegedly sold a mixture of oxycodone, hydrocodone, and the anti-anxiety drug alprazolam out of her home.
Baker was charged this year with killing and dismembering her 10-year-old stepdaughter, Zahra. Zahra, who had lost a leg to cancer, moved to North Carolina with her father, Adam Baker, after he met Elisa Baker on the Internet.
Adam Baker has not been charged.
Elisa Baker faces a long list of charges, from second-degree murder to writing bad checks, the newspaper said.
