The incident took place Monday afternoon in northeast Charlotte. No one was injured.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said the driver, Evan Okoduwa, was able to talk the teen into handing over the gun and getting off the bus. Okoduwa then drove a half mile down the street and called police.

At that time, a second student informed Okoduwa that the suspect had slipped him a pistol and asked him to help with the alleged hijacking.
