Three Ohio teens drown in Costa Rica

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 5 (UPI) -- Leaders of an Ohio church say family members were heading to Costa Rica after three teenagers on a spring break trip apparently drowned in the Pacific Ocean.

The bodies of two of the students from a Columbus charter school were recovered and a third remained missing Thursday, the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch said.

The father of one of the boys was en route to Costa Rica along with the pastor of their church, an assistant pastor told the newspaper.

The students were among a group of teens from Patriot Preparatory Academy taking part in a missionary trip that began April 28 and was scheduled to end Thursday. Five youths were apparently caught in a deadly rip current while swimming off the town of Parrita.
