OKLAHOMA CITY, May 5 (UPI) -- An Oklahoma man said he feared he would not survive an attack that left him beaten and with the misspelled word "rapest" tattooed on his forehead.
Stetson Johnson, 18, Oklahoma City, told The Oklahoman he did not know why the four suspects allegedly jumped him on April 17 or why they tattooed the misspelling on his head, but he did know he took a severe beating.
"I walked, probably about a mile," Johnson told the newspaper, recalling his effort to get to a nearby trailer park to call help. "I crawled and walked. I was, like, 'I don't think I'll be able to survive.'"
Johnson spent a few days in the intensive care ward and planned to move out his neighborhood. His family also plans to take Johnson to a tattoo artist to cover up "rapest" and another scrawled on his chest by the attackers that says "I like little boys."
The Oklahoman said Thursday Johnson's family said he had a diminished mental capacity that existed long before the alleged attack.
Meanwhile, police have arrested four suspects and are sorting out conflicting stories of what happened. Detectives did say a woman reported she had been sexually assaulted by Johnson but that allegation was discounted.
