Woman denies knowledge of missing girl

OCALA, Fla., May 4 (UPI) -- A Florida woman maintains she knows nothing about the disappearance of her ex-husband's daughter despite being the center of suspicion.

Haleigh Cummings vanished from her father's home in Satsuma, Fla., north of Orlando, on Feb. 10, 2009. She was 5 years old.

Misty Croslin, then 17, lived with Ronald Cummings and says she fell asleep with Haleigh and awoke to find her gone. She later married Cummings and divorced him.

"I know and God knows that I didn't do anything wrong. As long as I know, that's all that matters," Croslin told the Orlando Sentinel in an interview this week at a prison in Ocala where she is serving 25 years for drug trafficking. "If I knew something, they would've known it from day one."

But Maj. Gary Bowling of the Putnam County Sheriff''s Office said authorities "feel strongly Croslin has the information" on how and when Haleigh disappeared.

Cummings, who is serving 15 years for drug trafficking, has said he doesn't know what happened to his daughter, but Croslin says he owed money to dealers who may have kidnapped Haleigh.
