LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 20 (UPI) -- A Kentucky woman used a stun gun, a drywall knife and zip ties to kill 21-year-old Jamie Stice and kidnap her unborn child, a Kentucky state policeman said.
Police Detective Chad Winn told a probable cause hearing that Kathy Coy, 33, showed up at a friend's house last week claiming she had just given birth, WLKY-TV, Louisville, Ky., reported.
Winn said Coy and the newborn boy were taken to the hospital but doctors reported the birth as suspicious.
Winn said Coy denied any wrongdoing but eventually led police to Stice's body in a wooded area.
"Her throat was slit, her wrists were slit, she was disemboweled," Winn said. "The baby was obviously cut out of her."
He said Coy pretended to friends and had told her family that she was pregnant after befriending Stice.
The case has been sent to the grand jury.
