CINCINNATI, April 13 (UPI) -- A Cincinnati man has been charged with felonious assault for allegedly having sex without disclosing his HIV-positive health status.
Andre Davis, 29, was in court Wednesday before Judge David Stockdale as the charges against him were read, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
Prosecutors sought a high bond, calling Davis a danger to the community and suggesting there are other victims in other jurisdictions, the newspaper said.
Stockdale set Davis's bond at $25,000 for the HIV-related felonious assault charge.
Under Ohio law, people who are aware they've tested positive for the human immunodeficiency virus that can lead to AIDS must disclose that to a potential partner before engaging in sexual conduct.
Davis allegedly had sexual relations on March 3 without telling the other person he was HIV positive.
Davis is also facing assault charges for allegedly injuring the mother of his two children in a confrontation, and that case could go to court later this month, the Enquirer reported.
