SAN ANTONIO, April 11 (UPI) -- Police in Texas say they've arrested a man for allegedly striking a wheelchair-bound man with a ceramic pumpkin.
Jesse Esquivel, 35, was arrested by San Antonio police Sunday and is being held in Bexar County Jail on one count of injury to a disabled person, the San Antonio Express-News reported.
Police said Esquivel was approached in a San Antonio home last July by a woman inquiring about a missing cellphone.
The discussion turned into an argument between Esquivel and Ruben Arce, 49, a paraplegic.
The woman told police she left the house and then returned to find Esquivel standing over Arce, who had been knocked to the floor and was bloodied.
Police found a broken ceramic pumpkin next to Arce.
Police serving an arrest warrant took Esquivel into custody without incident Sunday, the Express-News reported.
