Bikini top protest earns police citation

COSTA MESA, Calif., March 31 (UPI) -- A wheelchair bound woman was cited when she picketed a Costa Mesa, Calif., department store entrance protesting an item of child apparel, police said.

Ethel Bolton, 75, carried a large sign reading "Abercrombie: pedophiles sexualizing little girls through clothing."

She was objecting to a bikini top with the thick padding Abercrombie & Fitch was marketing to young girls, the Orange County (Calif.) Register reported.

Bolton was cited for trespassing by the Costa Mesa Police Department but Debra Gunn Downing, executive director of marketing for South Coast Plaza, said the charge was rescinded and that Bolton "is welcome at South Coast anytime."

The bikini top was removed Wednesday from the Abercrombie Kids Web site.
