Teen charged with killing his guardians

EDMONTON, Ky., March 23 (UPI) -- A 15-year-old Kentucky boy was charged Wednesday with killing the couple who had been declared his legal guardians.

Christopher Endicott was found Tuesday night driving his guardians' car, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported. He was accompanied by his girlfriend, 12-year-old Kyra Shockley.

The boy had been in the care of Barbara Holloway, 51, and her husband, Gary, 50, since the beginning of the year, the Glasgow Daily Times reported. The couple lived in Edmonton in a rural area in south-central Kentucky.

Kyra's parents reported her missing early Tuesday, the Times said. Later that day, a relative went to the Holloways' house looking for the girl and found the couple dead.

An Amber Alert was issued for Kyra and Endicott that said they might be involved in a double homicide.

The detective heading the investigation, B.J. Burton, told the Herald-Leader Endicott and his girlfriend apparently planned to run away together.

The cause of the Holloways' death had not been released late Wednesday.

Endicott also has been charged with eluding police, driving without a license and other offenses.
