LAKE WORTH, Fla., March 17 (UPI) -- A Florida woman was badly injured Thursday when her male pit bull bit her as she tried to return a puppy to the litter the dog had fathered, officials said.
Another person in the Lake Worth mobile home tried to intervene, but was also bitten, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
The 39-year-old dog owner, whose hand and forearm were severely injured, and the other victim were taken to the hospital, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
The dogs were removed from the home by animal control employees, the newspaper said.
