Man who sought 'sex slaves' convicted

ERIE, Pa., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- An Erie, Pa., man has been convicted of child pornography charges after an ex-girlfriend said he wanted to start a colony of sex slaves.

Jeremy Noyes, 32, was arrested in 2008 after a former girlfriend told the FBI he planned to start such a "colony" with a New Zealand woman and her 4-year-old daughter, authorities said. He later accused the woman of planting the images found on his computers.

The jury in federal court in Erie deliberated about 90 minutes Tuesday to convict Noyes, who represented himself, of four counts involving child pornography and obscene material, mainly cartoons depicting the rape and molestation of minors, the Erie Times-News reported. He is to be sentenced June 23.

An FBI agent said he also found documents discussing sexual exploitation of children, including chats Noyes had with a woman who claimed to be from New Zealand. He detailed plans to bring her to the United States to breed a colony of sex slaves.

"My sense from the material was that Mr. Noyes was very serious about bringing a 4-year-old over to Erie. I question how serious the other person was," prosecutor Christian Trabold said.
