700 lbs. of pot found stored in Mich.

FLINT, Mich., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A Flint, Mich., man has been charged with holding 28 bales of marijuana in a rented storage locker.

Federal agents filed an affidavit Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Flint that said the marijuana, a total of 700 pounds, was discovered last week at Bee Safe Storage in Swartz Creek, the Detroit Free Press reported. Agents had a search warrant for a locker rented by William Jeffrey Lott of Flint but did not say what led them to obtain the warrant.

A search of Lott's house turned up another 26 pounds, agents said.

The marijuana was wrapped in black plastic and stored in cardboard wardrobe boxes, the affidavit said.

Lott allegedly admitted he rented the locker, saying he was working with other people and that he also helped them package the marijuana for sale. He was charged with conspiracy and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and released on $100,000 unsecured bond.

While he is out on bail, Lott must stay away from drugs and alcohol and cannot use his Michigan medical marijuana card, officials said.
