WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A New Jersey Planned Parenthood clinic employee has been fired for the advice he gave a couple making an undercover video, the group said Wednesday.
Planned Parenthood also said its clinic in Perth Amboy notified prosecutors about the "highly unusual" couple, who said they were seeking gynecological care for underage sex workers, The Washington Times reported. The couple were actually working for a Los Angeles anti-abortion group, Live Action, which has a history of trying to trap abortion clinics into breaking the law.
On the tape, a woman who appears to be the office manager tells the couple the clinic would prefer to know as little as possible about the girls, The New York Times said. Asked about getting abortions for girls as young as 14, she said they would have to go to another clinic "whose protocols are not as strict as ours."
Lila Rose, president of Live Action, said the tape proves Planned Parenthood violates the law.
"This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Planned Parenthood intentionally breaks state and federal laws and covers up the abuse of the young girls it aims to serve," she said in a statement.
Planned Parenthood told the Times at least 11 of its clinics have been targeted by couples posing as sex traffickers.
