TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- A Florida woman accused of shooting her two children to death was out of the hospital and back in jail Sunday, authorities said.
Julie Schenecker had been taken to Tampa General Hospital Friday for an unspecified medical condition that existed before her arrest in the slayings of her 13-year-old son Powers and 16-year-old daughter Calyx.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said Schenecker was returned to jail at midday but offered no additional details on her treatment.
The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times said Schenecker was scheduled to make her initial court appearance Monday.
Police say Schenecker told them she had killed her children Thursday because she had grown weary of their backtalk. Schenecker, who said she had planned to commit suicide, allegedly shot her son when she picked him up after soccer practice and then went home and killed Calyx as she did her homework.
Schenecker's husband, a U.S. Army colonel, was deployed to the Middle East at the time.
