Girl, 13, alleged cop-shooter's sex slave

DETROIT, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- The home of a Detroit man slain by police after he allegedly shot four officers was revealed as a chamber of horrors for a 13-year-old girl, officials said.

Police said Tuesday Lamar Moore, 38, allegedly abducted the girl, a runaway, about a week ago, and kept her as a sex slave and chained for days to a toilet, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Tuesday morning, Moore's house was seriously damaged by a fire, apparently an arson. The Detroit Fire Department's arson squad was investigating to determine a more specific cause, The Detroit News reported.

Moore was killed after he entered a police station Sunday and opened fire. He wounded four police officers, the newspapers said.

Police have not said what motivated Moore, but investigators had gotten a search warrant for his home and were closing in on him, the News reported.

While Ralph Godbee, the police chief, said he wouldn't speculate on a motive, he said Venson Robert Hibbit, 29, believed to be Moore's brother, was sentenced Monday to 30-60 years in prison on two counts of second-degree murder and a count of assault with intent to murder in a double homicide case.

Moore recently was ordered to make child support payments and lost custody of his son, in addition to being investigated for the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of the 13-year-old, police said.

The police officers who were shot -- officer David Anderson, Cmdr. Brian Davis, Sgt. Ray Saati and Sgt. Carrie Schulz -- are all expected to recover, the newspaper said.
