MIAMI, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- A Miami, Fla., prostitute attacked by a hammer-wielding customer wrestled away the weapon, knocking the trick bloody and unconscious, police said.
Police say after Douglas Curtis Mann, 48, had conducted business with Katrina Major, 29, Wednesday at a Miami home, Mann, attempting to avoid payment, attacked Major with a hammer inflicting minor injuries, The Miami Herald reported.
Major allegedly grabbed the hammer, returning blows in a fight moving from the house to the front of a nearby elementary school where police found Mann, the newspaper said Thursday.
It is unclear who called police.
Mann was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was reported in critical condition.
Miami detectives are investigating the incident and no charges as yet have been filed connected with this incident; however, Mann is awaiting trial on charges filed in November in a similar attack, the Herald said.
