Three teens charged as adults in gang rape

STICKNEY, Ill., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Three Chicago-area teenagers were charged as adults in an alleged gang rape of a 14-year-old girl that police say was videotaped on a cellphone.

Alex Picallo, 16, Majeed Khalifeh, 18, and Jonathan Leanos, 19, were charged with two counts each of aggravated criminal sexual assault in the alleged Saturday assault at Leanos' home in the Chicago suburb of Stickney, police said.

A fourth suspect, Vicente Hernandez, 22, of suburban Cicero, Ill., was charged with the same crimes, WBBM-TV, Chicago, reported.

Leanos met the girl, who does not live in Stickney, through the Myspace social-networking Web site last summer, and they spent time with each other several times since then, including at Leanos' home Saturday, a police report said.

When Leanos asked her to have sex with him and she refused, he allegedly took the girl to pick up Khalifeh and Hernandez and then returned home, where Picallo met them, the report said. Leanos then allegedly told the girl to have sex with his friends and the assault was allegedly videotaped on a cellphone, WBBM said.

The girl was treated at a hospital and released, police said. Her parents then brought her to the police station.
