1 dead, 1 hurt in Las Vegas gas leak

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- One person died and another was injured Wednesday after an apparent gas leak in North Las Vegas, officials said.

Emergency workers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of James Street Wednesday afternoon to what appeared to be an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a stove, North Las Vegas police spokesman Tim Bedwell told the Las Vegas Sun.

The injured person was being treated at a hospital.
