ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- A Florida judge heard an estimated 22 motions Monday during a hearing for Casey Anthony, accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, documents show.
Issues ranged from Anthony's sexual history to courtroom photography, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Anthony, who attended the hearing, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie, who was reported missing in July 2008 and whose remains were found that December.
Also during the hearing, Casey Anthony's defense attorneys failed to share detailed information with the prosecution resulting in a "willful violation" of the court's order to do so.
Chief Judge Belvin Perry used the analogy of a poker game in describing the exchange of discovery information, saying "everybody should know what everybody has in their hands."
But Anthony's defense lawyer, Jose Baez, defied Perry's order to share detailed information about the opinions of expert defense witnesses and the judge found Baez in "willful violation" of the court's order to produce discovery information, the Sentinel reported.
Perry ruled defense experts will now have to produce reports and express conclusions on specific evidence they intend to testify about. Any opinions not expressed in a report or at an upcoming deposition will not be permitted at trial, he ordered.
"These are very bright and intelligent people," Perry said. "They generally know what they've found."
Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton asked for sanctions against Baez saying the prosecution received little in the way of expert opinions to prepare for the depositions of the defense experts.
Perry did not grant sanctions but he let Baez know how close he had come to granting the motion saying, "Deadlines mean deadlines, folks."
