WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin announced the stops for her book tour, many of which are in key presidential primary states including Iowa and Ohio.
ABC News said Saturday the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee's itinerary doesn't include Democratic-leaning states such as New York and California despite their large media and consumer markets and instead focuses on states that could be a launching pad for a 2012 presidential run.
The tour for Palin's tome "America by Heart" kicks off in Phoenix, a solid Republican redoubt and home turf of Sen. John McCain, with whom she shared the 2008 GOP ticket.
It continues after Thanksgiving with two stops in Iowa and then moves on to Ohio and South Carolina.
ABC said Palin would not be alone on the book circuit. Republican hopefuls Newt Gingrich and Tim Pawlenty are also making the rounds with their books as they seek to build up a base of support for the looming primaries.
