TV reporter injured at Halloween parade

NEW YORK, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- A New York television news reporter was pulled off a Halloween Parade float by someone dressed as a clown, police said.

Emmy-winning WPIX reporter Arthur Chi'en suffered extensive facial injuries when he was dragged off the float during the Greenwich Village parade, the New York Daily News reported.

"I tried to wave him off, but the railing gave way," Chi'en said Wednesday. "We both fell, but I landed face first in the street."

Chi'en is expected Thursday to undergo reconstructive surgery, the Daily News said.
