Sister says she found satanic drawings

SAN JOSE, Ark., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- The witnesses against two California teenagers charged with killing another boy include one of their sisters.

Randy Thompson, 16, and Jay Williams, 15, have been charged as adults with the murder of Michael Russell, 15, the San Jose Mercury News reported. A preliminary hearing began this week.

Leslie Thompson, 18, Randy's sister, testified Tuesday, telling the court she found what appeared to be satanic drawings on Nov. 10, 2009, the day Russell was killed. She said she checked his backpack after he and Williams left the house, allegedly to stab Russell.

The drawings, mostly stick figures, showed devils defeating angels and, in one case, two people with horns on their heads labeled "Grim" and "Goure." Thompson said her brother and Williams used those as nicknames.

She read notes she found on one drawing: "Better now than later, at least he went quick and painless, I think. Sorry your son's dead. Maybe your other kids can live long lives. Wait, that was your only kid. Sorry."

A boy testified that he and the two defendants were part of a group of about 10 students at Santa Teresa High School who claimed to believe in satanism. A girl said Williams and Thompson showed her video stored on their cellphones of animals being tortured.
