Former Unipresser Ken Clark dies at 78

DUNMORE, Pa., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Former Unipresser Kenneth Raymond Clark, who went on to become a media critic for the Chicago Tribune, has died in a Pennsylvania hospice. He was 78.

Clark, who was known as "Pa" to family and friends, was born in Fort Collins, Colo., to Raymond Arthur and Mary Ann Clark.

He joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from the University of Colorado, rising to the rank of captain. Following his military career, Clark began a 20-year career with United Press International and in 1982 moved to the Chicago Tribune where he worked in the New York bureau as a media writer and television critic.

He died Sunday at the Community Care Hospice in Dunmore, Pa., surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy, a daughter and two grandchildren. Two of his children preceded him in death.

Services were to be private, the William H. Clark Funeral Home said.
