VANCOUVER, Wash., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Authorities in Washington State have filed theft charges against Bethany Storro who admitted lying about having acid thrown in her face.

Storro told a police detective she used chemical drain cleaner to fake an acid attack that would either kill her or "get her face redone," The (Vancouver) Columbian reported.

Three weeks after her case came to national attention, Storro was charged with three counts of second-degree theft by deception.

Clark County Deputy Prosecutor Tony Golik said Monday evening he has obtained a warrant for her arrest.

The charges against Storro involve contributions from well-meaning people or businesses who donated $750 or more, Golik said.

Storro admitted to police last week that she faked the acid attack

She said her first motive was suicide but if it didn't work she could get her face redone, The Vancouver (Washington) Voice reported.

She said she purchased drain cleaner and a pair of gloves at a local hardware store.
