FBI responds to Army base shooting

FORT BLISS, Texas, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- FBI agents responded Monday to a report of a shooting at a convenience store at Fort Bliss, Texas, in which a man was killed, a base spokesman said.

Spokesman Dieter Jester said the man who was killed had shot two women before he was fatally shot by law enforcement officers, CNN reported.

There was no word on the condition of the wounded women, a possible motive for the shooting or on whether the victims were civilians or military personnel.

Fort Bliss -- home to the First Armored Division -- is situated on the Texas-New Mexico border, not far from the Mexican border at El Paso, Texas. Its main headquarter is located in Texas.
