Ohio woman charged in 'pot tot' case

CINCINNATI, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- An Ohio woman who allegedly shot a video of her 2-year-old daughter smoking marijuana is facing drug and child endangerment charges, authorities said.

Jessica Gamble, 21, of Springfield Township, was indicted Wednesday on three felonies, corrupting another with drugs, child endangering and tampering with evidence.

The child was seen smoking on a video taken with the Gamble's cell phone -- by Gamble, the indictment charges.

"It's beyond disgusting," Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said of the video. "I would get very upset if I found out my 16-year-old daughter was drinking a beer," he told The Cincinnati Enquirer.

Gamble is accused of making or encouraging her daughter to smoke marijuana.

"It is disturbing to think that a parent would provide their 2-year-old child with marijuana," Deters said.

The tampering with evidence charge, Deters said, was the result of Gamble deleting the video from her cell phone.

Before she did, Deters said, someone saw the video and was so disturbed at seeing the child smoking marijuana they forwarded the video to another cell phone and alerted Family Services investigators.

"I am very grateful for the person who brought this to our attention," Deters said, adding the person would be a key witness in the case.
