University of Georgia partiers arrested

ATHENS, Ga., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- A total of 43 University of Georgia students were arrested on drug and liquor charges during a two-week period, a student newspaper says.

That's the period since the Princeton Review declared the university the top U.S. party school, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Charges listed in police records include underage drinking and drunken driving.

Police arrested 20 students Thursday night.

The student newspaper, The Red and Black, said there were 15 arrests in two weeks last August and 13 in 2008. Campus and Athens-Clarke County police planned DUI checkpoints Friday so more busts seemed likely, the Journal-Constitution said.
