Noose found at Ford Motor Co. plant

DETROIT, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- An electrical cord fashioned into a noose was found hanging in a Ford Motor Co. plant in Michigan during the weekend, Ford officials say.

The noose was found in the basement of the company's Woodhaven Stamping Plant in Wayne County, the Detroit Free Press reported.

"We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to inappropriate behavior like that," Ford spokeswoman Marcey Evans said.

The basement is not a high-traffic area of the facility and there isn't a reason for most employees to go there, she said.

Ford officials did not comment on whether the noose might be race related and said there was no history of incidents such as this at the plant.

"This appears to be an isolated incident," Evans said.
