Obama to discuss economy

LAS VEGAS, July 9 (UPI) -- President Barack Obama will speak about the economy Friday during an appearance at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, the White House said.

Obama also discussed the economy Thursday in Kansas City, Mo., and spoke on behalf of Senate candidate Robin Carnahan while in Kansas City.

Obama then traveled to Nevada to speak on behalf of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The president was expected to return to Washington Friday evening, the White House said.
