TALLAHASSEE, Fla., June 10 (UPI) -- BP says it is giving Florida a third $25 million grant to mitigate the impact of the gulf oil spill on the state.
The latest grant is intended to continue implementation of Florida's Area Contingency Plan following a previous $25 million block grant announced on May 5, a BP release Wednesday said.
A $25 million tourism grant was promised on May 17, BP said.
"Working in partnership with the state is important to an effective spill response," BP Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles said. "So we are pleased to make these additional funds available per the governor's request."
