Murder suspects' pics allowed in yearbook

AMHERST, N.H., June 3 (UPI) -- Photographs of two teenage suspects in a New Hampshire murder appearing in their high school yearbook is an outrage, a parent in the community said.

The photos are of William Marks and Quinn Glover, seniors at Souhegan Coop High School in Amherst. They face multiple charges in the slaying of Kimberly Cates, 42, of Mount Vernon and the attempted killing of her 11-year-old daughter, the Boston Herald reported Thursday.

"I do think this is part of a bigger picture that criminals have more rights than victims," said Wesley Sonner of Mount Vernon, the parent of a high school student. "Some people argue that they're innocent until proven guilty, but ... the Constitution doesn't guarantee a right to be in your senior yearbook,"

The decision was "very thoughtfully" made and followed the school's policy, said Mary Athey Jennings, superintendent of the Amherst, Mount Vernon and Souhegan cooperative school districts.

Marks pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit burglary, the newspaper said.

Glover pleaded guilty to robbery and burglary charges and is expected to testify against Marks and two other suspects: Steven Spader, 18, and Christopher Gribble, 20, both of Brookline, the Herald reported.

Spader and Gribble face charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and witness tampering, officials said.

Autumn Savoy, 20, of Hollis, a fifth suspect, pleaded guilty to hindering apprehension and is expected to testify against Marks, Spader and Gribble, the Herald said.
