Reagan, Clinton top first ladies poll

NEW YORK, May 24 (UPI) -- Nancy Reagan and Hillary Clinton are Americans' favorite first ladies of the past 36 years, survey results released Monday indicate.

The Angus Reid Public Opinion poll found and equal portion -- 19 percent -- of those surveyed picked Reagan and Clinton. Current first lady Michelle Obama garnered 15 percent and her predecessor, Laura Bush, came in fourth with 12 percent.

Barbara Bush, Rosalynn Carter and Betty Ford each received less than 10 percent.

The online survey of 1,016 U.S. adults on the survey company's pre-selected panel was conducted May 13-14. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
