Body found, may be missing Colo. girl

GREELEY, Colo., May 19 (UPI) -- A naked body authorities believe may be that of a Greeley, Colo., girl missing for nearly two months turned up Wednesday in a drainage ditch, police said.

Irrigation workers found the badly decomposed body believed to be that of Kayleah Wilson, 12, who disappeared March 28 en route to a birthday party, KMGH-TV, Denver, reported.

Kayleah was last seen outside Greeley Mall, the FBI said. The ditch where the body was discovered was about 1 1/2 miles away and about a half mile from the girl's home.

Investigators said dental records would be used to make a positive identification. ABC reported the body was so badly decomposed, it was not immediately clear whether it was male or female.

Greeley police said they had not determined why Kayleah disappeared. They said they had not ruled out the possibility she ran away.
