Casey Anthony indictment stands

ORLANDO, Fla., May 10 (UPI) -- The judge in the Caylee Anthony slaying case said Monday the charges against her mother will stand and jurors will be brought in from another Florida county.

Casey Anthony, 24, appeared in an Orange County courtroom where her attorneys sought to have the first-degree murder indictment against her tossed out, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported. Anthony's lawyers said in a written motion it contained so little detail they couldn't possibly defend her. But Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry denied their request.

Anthony's attorneys also argued she cannot receive a fair trial with a jury picked from the area because of the intense media coverage. But Perry said he will rule that he and attorneys for both sides will travel to another county to select a jury, which will be sequestered during trial.

He said he also will issue an order banning the attorneys from discussing the case publicly.

Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty if they win a conviction in the 2-year-old girl's 2008 death. The two sides will argue death-penalty motions before Perry Tuesday, the Sentinel said.

The judge didn't rule on a defense motion to bar prosecutors from using photos of their client attending parties.

"I have some concerns about some of the photographs," Perry said. "It's hard to rule on these in a vacuum without hearing both sides."
