"We are all deeply distressed by this news," Yale College Dean Mary Miller said a message to students.

Dabaghi, expected to graduate in 2011, majored East Asian studies, the Yale student newspaper said.

Before Tuesday's incident, the Post said, the most recent suicide at the Empire State Building was believed to have been four years ago when a person jumped from a window in vacant office on the 66th floor.
