Death sentence in murders of Ohio teens

CINCINNATI, March 31 (UPI) -- An Ohio judge Wednesday sentenced Anthony Kirkland to death for the killings of two teenagers.

A Sept. 30 execution date was penciled in; however The Cincinnati Enquirer said it would most likely be postponed by appeals.

Kirkland was convicted in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court this month of raping and killing Casonya Crawford, 14, in 2006 and Esme Kenney, 13, last year and setting their bodies on fire.

He earlier pleaded guilty to killing two other women. He faces life sentences for those crimes.
